The socialisation of Dougal
lately my dear D has been reaching new heights of anti-social behaviour. While Jack is now the friendliest little chap, Dougal seems to be permanently lurking in the caves, and won't come out if I'm even just in the room. He never used to be that bad either. Last night I needed a cuddle so I dug him out of his hideaway and brought him downstairs to cheer myself up. He is a lot calmer if he's not being held in my room, probably because he can't plan his escape routes.
I cuddled him for ages and ages and he ran up my jumper and snuggled in.
Awwwww!!!
And when I put him back down in the pen he didn't just run as fast as he could for the nearest cave either, he scampered around a bit and didn't look frightened at all. So my new plan is to cuddle him everyday, in the hope that he'll get used to me. It could be because my mum didn't cuddle them very much that he's gotten so shy. But now I'm back and determined to make them snuggle up.
In other news Dougal's toe seems fine, and Jack is chipper as ever.
I love guinea pigs!!!
